Peter is is an expert in cancer prevention, clinical trials and cancer screening, and his work influences both policy and practice.
A statistician and cancer epidemiologist, he works on screening, early diagnosis, therapeutic prevention, clinical trials and analysis of cancer statistics. His major research has been related to the elimination of cervical cancer. He is currently running two very large cancer screening trials: one evaluating a blood test for all cancers; and another studying a “sponge on a string” for detecting pre-cancerous changes in the food pipe.
