Ben is a dual-trained General Practitioner and RSS-accredited Statistician. He graduated with a medical degree from Trinity College Dublin in 2016, a Masters in Statistics from University College Dublin in 2019, becoming a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society thereafter. He completed GP training and the MRCGP examinations in Edinburgh in 2022 before returning to Ireland to take up a HSE/ICGP Post-CSCST Fellowship in General Practice, under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Redmond in RCSI. Following this predoctoral fellowship in early cancer detection research, he was accepted onto the SPHeRE PhD Programme—’Ireland’s national research training programme for population health, policy and health services research’. The focus of his PhD is lung cancer screening eligibility.
