Kim Hanly

Cancer survivor & patient advocate

Kim is a cervical cancer survivor and patient advocate from Dublin. Diagnosed at 26, she underwent a radical hysterectomy and later founded Cervical Cancer Awareness Ireland to support others affected. She’s a strong voice for cervical screening and HPV vaccination, even in the face of online abuse. Kim has held active roles as a Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) contributor with the Irish Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ISGO), the HSE Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy Group, and the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup (GCIG). She also helped develop a “diagnosis delivery card” to better inform newly diagnosed patients and was awarded the Laura Brennan Award in 2021 for her advocacy. Despite ongoing health challenges, she continues to raise awareness and fight for better support and education around cervical cancer
